Jesuit Varsity Squad Breaks Another Record
While Embarrassing Sac High
69-12
by Sargon Benjamin
Coming into the Halloween game, the Marauders gave the Sacramento Dragons quite a scare with many horrible nightmares.
Ranked number 2 in the city by the Sacramento Bee and having a record of 7-0, Jesuit
battled the unranked 0-7 Sacramento Dragons in a game that anyone could predict the
outcome of. However, the team knew that they had to play hard in order to defeat the
Dragons, and they did just that in Jesuit fashion.

On Jesuit's first possession, the Marauders gave the Dragons a lesson by running effectively while passing accurately
and topping the drive off with a 30 yard K.C.
Maxwell touchdown run. From there on, it was all Jesuit. The
Defense contributed big time in Jesuit's success from playmakers like Mike Catapano and Jeff Reiman who always bring the
big hits. Consequently, Sac High's offense was forced to punt on numerous occasions. After
getting the ball back, K.C. Maxwell worked his magic again in the first quarter by powering his way for an 8
yard touchdown making the score 14-0 Jesuit on top.

In the second quarter, the Marauders just got better. The offensive line gave quarterback Brian Karns plenty of time to throw
touchdown passes to Casey Young and junior tight end Kelly Micco. As if that were not enough, all star Jeff Reiman killed the Dragon's defense by
running for a 30 yard touchdown in the end zone he sees many times during a game. The
first half ended with a breath taking score of 48-0 Marauders. In the second half of the Dragon's
nightmare, Charles Bell
sprinted down the field for 94 yards with a rocket tied to his back that would not stop
going. After gaining some confidence, Sac High put up 12 points making the final score
69-12. The Jesuit Marauders set a new school record by
scoring 69 points in one game. Jesuit is on their way to an undefeated season with a
record of 8-0 and must face Kennedy next week at Jesuit to do so.
