Dumb and Dumber
over Thanksgiving Break
by Sargon Benjamin
It was about three weeks ago when I dropped
my TV onto my VCR, demolishing my VCR. Boy was I pissed and dumb. I tried opening the darn
thing and playing around with all the chips inside of it, but nothing worked.
Consequently, I had to buy a new VCR and I found a pretty good deal at Target, so I
went and bought the thing. The new and advanced and super duper VCR was awesome. Then,
during Thanksgiving Vacation, I went to old Blockbuster Video down the street and got a
"rent 1 get 1 free" deal. The two movies I got were Switch Back and The
Postman. Switchback is a great movie by the way; however, my dad watched
"The Postman" later that night and did not enjoy it. And then, surprisingly on
Black Friday, Target had a 6am-11am sale and the VCR I bought was thirty bucks cheaper, so
I returned the one I bought saying it was broken and got the one on sale.
When I got home, I decided to return my
five day rentals on the second day and, just as I picked up the case for The Postman,
I noticed that the case was empty. "Where had the video gone?" was what I was
thinking along with my dad, and right then we looked each other in the eyes and knew what
happened. I had left The Postman in the VCR I had returned, and I felt dumber than
when I broke the VCR. Thankfully, the nice people at Target found my video and so my dad
and I rushed there to get it and then return it to Blockbuster.
And then we lived happily ever after. |
